How Alex Hormozi made my team more productive
The 4 changes that made our remote team 10x more focused
Hello from Toronto! 🇨🇦
If you haven’t heard much from me this week, it’s because I’ve been on set at an Adcrate Creator House :)

We’ve got 8 top creators shooting for Adcrate brands and have shot some KILLER ads this week in time for Q4 (will be sharing some on X over the course of the next few weeks).
Anyway, this week I want to go off script a little and talk about something not ads related.
Last year, I specifically remember watching this video by Alex Hormozi where he went over his productivity system. Since implementing it at Adcrate, it has undeniably made our team more happy, less distracted and more productive.
So today, I’m going to share some things I’ve learned abut productivity and efficiency in teams having built and maintained a remote team of 35+ people across 3 different continents.
But first, here's what I've come across in AI this week:
Shopify announced that you will soon be able to buy through ChatGPT. This is HUGE for ECom brands!
Claude released their latest model Claude Sonnet 4.5. My early testing of it has been positive so far.
Claude is now available in Slack allowing you to chat in channels, DMs or threads
WOW, what a busy week :)
How Alex Hormozi made my team more productive
These are the key changes we made after learning from Alex…
Moving all calls to 2 afternoons a week
We keep mornings clear every day (non-negotiable) and restrict calls to Monday and Wednesday afternoons only. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday are kept completely clear for deep work.
Calls can still be set up ad hoc on these days, but generally only urgent ones. And if they are, back them in starting at the end of the day to give you as much undistracted time as possible.
The result? Everyone gets 3.5 full days of deep work time every week. No context switching. No "quick 15-minute calls" that turn into hour-long discussions.
Time blocking
Everyone on the team is encouraged to time block in their calendar to complete their priority tasks. This is usually in the mornings. Afternoons are more flexible to allow time to deal with messages, notifications etc.
We encourage people to update their status on Slack (click profile icon in the bottom left) to show the team that they’re in deep work and that they shouldn’t expect an immediate response.

💡 Pro tip: The Undistracted Chrome extension is pretty useful for blocking social media/specific distracting sites
Focus on being effective, not efficient
I constantly reaffirm to the team that I would way rather they spend 4 hours working on the right thing than 10 hours working on the wrong thing.
Redefining productivity like this encourages people to be intentional about their work and work on meaningful tasks that move the company forward.
The ONE Thing is a great book on this that I have ordered for multiple team members. I’d also recommend Deep Work, Atomic Habits and Getting Things Done.
Create a culture that people actually want to be apart of
Arguably the most important point here.
People are productive when they are motivated. And they are motivated when they are bought into the overall mission of the company and it’s culture, that is driven by you, the leader.
It’s not easy to foster this remotely, but here are a few things we’ve implemented that you can steal:
One of the things I’m most proud of in my business is the culture we’ve been able to build in our fully remote team.
A lot of people say that you can’t build culture remotely, but I think it just means you have to be more intentional about the way you build it.
And after

Lastly, if I can share one more tweet, here’s one that went viral from Cody at JRB recently and I really like it - because it’s so true.
Half of the value I add as CEO is just applying urgency to situations

You can do all of the things above, but if there isn’t any urgency applied, it will slow down your business and kill your team’s productivity.
